Living Small in a Big Word - Candy for Breakfast...because we can!!
From three feet tall—with wide eyes and sticky fingers—owning a candy, fudge, and year-round Christmas store must look like the ultimate jackpot of adulthood.
We hear it all the time:
“Have you eaten EVERYTHING in here? I would!”
“What’s your favorite candy in the WHOLE store?”
“Do you sleep here? That would be SO cool!”
“How long would it take to eat everything in here?”
…and my personal favorite, “How much money would it take to buy it ALL?”
Those questions (and a little curiosity of our own) inspired Candy for Breakfast.
Every Thursday morning, Craig and I grab our non-negotiable adulting accessory—a cup of coffee—and pick a candy from the shop we’ve never tried before. With no script, no retakes, and definitely no filter, we taste it, react on the spot, and share it with you.
Some candies are instant regrets. Reindeer Snot, anyone? Or those tiny wax bottles that looked innocent but tasted like bad science experiments. We’ve had pizza-flavored hard candy (yes, it’s exactly as weird as it sounds) and plenty of things we’d never eat again. And that’s the point—we promised to be honest. When it’s bad, our faces tell the whole story.
But when it’s good… oh, it’s really good. From frogs (HP fans know) to ghost pepper infused, chocolate has yet to let us down.
Most mornings, Craig and I just sit with our coffee, chatting about life, family, and the store. On Thursdays, we open that circle and let the world join us for a few minutes of candy adventure.
Why do we do it? Simple. Because we’re adults, and if we want candy for breakfast—we can.
